She Will Live Again!

When he left her
She had spent years with him
That was enough to break her
And slowly extinguish her flame
When he left her
She was supposed to be shattered
But
**********

She began to get used to her new lifestyle
Her solitary moments felt blissful
The food tasted more delicious
Taking a shower at night has never felt so good
Sleep became more peaceful
No one reminded her that she was good for nothing
And
**********

She could still visit friends
She could still laugh hard
She could still sing in the shower
She enjoyed her food in peace
Life felt good even when it ought to taste sour
She could still breathe
But
**********

When he left her
She was supposed to drown in her own tears
She was supposed to mourn his wicked exit
She was supposed to be crushed
And writhe in pain
And curse the day she was born
But
**********

She managed the ordeal too well
She pushed herself to stay strong
She was broken but not shattered
And then it hit her
She didn’t lose anything
Rather she gained everything
And
**********

She wouldn’t let anyone ridicule her again
She wouldn’t let anyone deflate her ego again
She wouldn’t let anyone puncture her self-esteem again
She was free from his insanity
She was free from his evilness
She was free from violence
And
**********

She raised her glasses up
Good riddance to days of nightmares
Good riddance to long nights of horror
Good riddance to a life of torture
She was supposed to miss him
She was supposed to fall apart
But
**********

She gained her dignity back
She gained her strength back
She gained her voice back
She danced to her new freedom
She danced to her new groove
She was broken but not shattered
She will live again
**********

Be Careful With Your Words…!

Have you ever considered the words spoken to you at some point in your life? I mean those words that cut deep and pierce your heart. Those harsh words that ring a bell in your head when you remember them.

Words are powerful. Be it negative or positive words.

The words we utter and the words we speak are powerful and we should guide our tongues before making any utterances. Continue reading

Just A Kind Word…!

Long Post Alert!

“Hmmn. Stella, Did you say you want to study abroad? Na wao. As if there’s no Unilag (University of Lagos)? Some people get big eye sha”. You know your father cannot afford abroad for you…And you’re looking for £1k. Do you know how much that is?” And I said, Yes I know, it’s N100k. Some years ago!

And my friend laughed. Ignored me and didn’t say a word to me again. After some quirky moments of silence, I left her shop. A few months later I got a Scholarship to study abroad. I got a paid scholarship to study in Denmark. Oh wow! Continue reading

This 2018 – Walk Away…!

*Walking*
is the best exercise!

*Walk Away*  from
arguments that lead you to nowhere but anger.

*Walk Away*  from
groups with narcissistic elements, and unclean spirits burdened with grudges.

*Walk Away*  from
any thought that reduces your worth. And something that you wouldn’t recommend to those you love or respect.

*Walk Away*  from
failures and fears that stifle your dreams. Don’t hang around pessimistic souls, optimistic people are winners.

*Walk Away*  from
people who do not care for you and who are opportunistic. If you’re only as good as what you can offer, then you’re a price tag.

The more you
*Walk Away*  from
things that poison your soul, the happier your life will be. Your average intelligence is based on five people who are very close to you.

Words Can Kill…

Words can kill and negative criticism sucks. Sometimes, we are filled with sobering emotions and rudely shocked with others utterances against us. I mean, spoken words targeted to crush and demean a person’s worth. Negative words or criticisms pierce the heart and hurt badly especially when they are thrown from close associates… Be it in the form of jokes or direct insults, they breed hate, spite and gloom.
