There Are No Guarantees!

The TRUTH is:

LIFE can be messy.

And LOVE can be messy.

Life and Love can mess you up.

There are no guarantees!

You never know where the road leads. You might have great plans for the future. You might have great plans for your life. You might have great plans for your love life, your relationship and your marriage.

But no matter the plans to make life AWEmazing and Wonderful and Loving, you can’t change what the future holds or what lies ahead.

No. You. Can’t.

Hard as you try, you can’t prevent the unexpected surprises that tug at humanity.

And life ends abruptly.

And the spark in love dims and fades unceremoniously.

Life and love cease, ends, at the slightest…provocation. At the slightest mistake.

We don’t know what the future has in store for us, even after trying everything humanly possible to have a good future.

Only God can accurately tell what the future holds for us.

So what goes?

Simple.

Just live in the moment.

Bask in the euphoria of the moment and the times you have to spend with your family and loved ones.

Make it memorable.

Make it interesting.

Make it significant.

Make it unforgettable.

Make it endearing.

Make it passionate.

Make it a worthy experience for everyone.

Why not create quality time this weekend and spend the nights singing lullabies to your kids, playing hide and seek with them and just jumping and running all over the house in sheer delight.

Why not rekindle the spark of love with him/her, kissing, holding hands, looking at each other’s eyes, whispering sweet nothings to the ears of your partner, and just lounging in pure bliss and ecstasy, singing the music of love as you dance in harmony into the dark night.

Live.

Love.

That is Life.

Happy weekend, Everyone.

Peace and Love!

Reflections: Nigeria At 58

It is true that we can’t outline her achievements, accomplishments, and successes as we can obviously see what she has turned out to be. It is very correct if we believe that there is no reason to be happy about the Nigerian Independence day. However, in spite of the unending chorus of disapproval and brouhaha from all quarters, many don’t have the intention of abandoning Nigeria or change even their Nationality. Therefore, regardless of how anybody feels today, Nigeria is our country and we must wish her well whether publicly or in our minds. Continue reading

Dear Girl Child – 2

Speak Out.

Your Voice Must Be Heard.

Any attempt to relegate you to the background will not be acceptable.  Any attempt to limit you from marching forward will not be tolerated. Enough of the stereotyped prison that has caged you for too long. Enough of the restrictive mould that has hindered your progress. Enough of the cultural and traditional norms that erode your self-esteem. Enough of the sexual harassments and violence and rape that you’ve been subjected to. Enough of the taboos that trail your womanhood.  Enough of the abuse on your person. You’ve been slapped many times. Beaten uncountable times. Manipulated several times. Dehumanised again and again. Be Careful With Your Words…!

Have you ever considered the words spoken to you at some point in your life? I mean those words that cut deep and pierce your heart. Those harsh words that ring a bell in your head when you remember them.

Words are powerful. Be it negative or positive words.

The words we utter and the words we speak are powerful and we should guide our tongues before making any utterances. Continue reading
