Air Travel: An Agonizing Moment Of Existence!

I die every time there is a horrific plane crash.

Air disaster has happened several times in the past. And I have died many times in the past. I die out of shock. Then I inhale life again.

The deep emotional trauma associated with every gruesome crash leaves me questioning the mysterious ways of death. And it takes days to pull me out from the debris of throbbing ache and dismal hope. Life is so transient. Such was my experience at the news broadcast Last Sunday. A plane crash that shattered aspirations in such devastating magnitude. The reports of Sunday’s doomed flight tormented me.

And I broke down in uncontrollable tears.   Continue reading

Tales From My Homeland!

December 9, 2018.

Lagos, Nigeria.

It was a beautiful Sunday Morning. I woke up very early to run some errands. I also wanted to avoid the long queue in most ATM cash points. I asked my Sister-in-Law to direct me to the nearest ATM Machine. My vacation was coming to an end and I needed cash for some vital purchases.

Sister-in-Law:  There are banks around the neighbourhood. But I think the nearest one is the one by the junction. I will suggest you leave now to avoid a long queue.

Me: Lol. Ok. I hope I will get cash because all these ATM appears to be for decoration given my experiences thus far in this country. Continue reading

Photo Of The Day!

My Photo Of The Day – Washington DC, January 14, 2019.

And yes, I’ve been in the States for the New Year Celebrations. And just yesterday the angelic snow came down in her gorgeous glistening posture and there was a spark of white on the entire landscape.

It was the perfect time to visit the White House again, just so I could take some more photos of the official residence and workplace of the President of the United States.

Peace and Love!

A Recap of My Summer Vacation: 3

Washington DC In A Nutshell – Part 2

Let’s get going with some historical facts. Washington DC has tons of free museums. One need not bother with those that charge admission fees except if duly needed. It is pertinent to mention that The Smithsonian has 19 museums and there is every likelihood that one will never see all of them if on a short trip where only a few days will be spent. However, ideally, it is a good idea to prioritize the most popular places. Some of the best, for both adults and children which I’d recommend, is the Air and Space Museum for those with technical inclinations. The Natural History Museum; American History Museum, and the Archives. These are popular attractions for a reason which you should find out. Continue reading

A Recap of My Summer Vacation: 2

Washington DC in a Nutshell:

Travelling it leaves you speechless, then turns you into a storyteller. – Ibn Battuta

Whenever I visit new cities, one thing I do is to try and find a few unique things to do in the evenings. I start by asking Mr Google for directions and for some iconic places of interest to visit. I always like to know the tourist attractions of any destination I travel to even before my arrival in such a place. Besides fun activities and an adventure on local foodies of the land, I like doing a bit of ‘nerding’ out in Museums to check out antiques and artefacts. These things fascinate me and I love to have good collages of photographs as souvenirs for the future. It’s hard to share the dozens of photos I’ve so far gathered on this platform. It will definitely take up the whole space in my blog as well.  Continue reading

Any frantic feelings I have about travelling vanishes the moment I arrive at my destination. The whole anxiety and weariness slip away as I step my feet on the new city. – Simple Dimple

The above quotes are the summation of my feelings regarding travelling. Continue reading
