She Is Coming Home…!

It’s coming home…

She’s coming home…

Yeah, come right in…

The door is open…

Oh well, this has absolutely nothing to do with England’s feeble performance at the World Cup. Nope.

What’s coming home is the fact that my cousin is visiting me in Dallas. Yes o, that’s the newest news that is making me grin from ear to ear. I am happy. I am very happy today.

Finally, she is coming to see her cousin because it’s been a long while. I’ve been to the US a number of times but I’ve never visited California. Well, this time around, I didn’t plan to commute within the United States like I did last December.

Chei. It’s easier to visit London from Denmark than to take a flight from Dallas to California. It’s quite a distance and it’s damn expensive too and I don’t want to bore a big hole in my pocket. Honestly, travelling depletes one’s bank account and I cannot indulge in such bounty at this time.

So we got talking and I told her that it’s not possible for us to see on this visit. Again, she queried? And she said to me – “ever heard of the saying that if Mohamed does not go to the mountain, the mountain will go to Mohammed?” I chuckled. Excited.

And yes, she is visiting me in Dallas, Texas and I can’t wait to see her. I can’t wait to hug her tightly. I can’t wait to see the beautiful face of my beautiful sweet cousin again. I truly admire her and it will be nice to sit by her side and discuss home, family and everything in between.

Ouch! Family means love. Family is forgiveness. Family brings laughter. The family is everything.

After 20 years in the United States, she is finally coming to see her family. She is coming home to family, to friendship and to love.

Certainly, Dearest Couz, it’s been a long time. It’s been a very long time. Regardless, I still have a vague picture of you in my heart. I still remember the last time we were together in Festac town, Lagos, Nigeria.

Come right in, JD. I can’t wait to see you. Love you loads and looking forward to laughter, to delicious foodies, to tight hugs and to our chitchats.

See you in a bit.

Love Your Neighbour…!

Listen Up
Dear Everyone

Let’s stay true to love
Let’s stay true to unity
Let’s stay true to compassion
Let’s stay true to empathy
And
Let’s say no to strife and mutiny
Let’s say no to prejudices
Let’s say no to Corruption
Let’s say no to evil inclinations
But
Let’s give a little more of ourselves
Let’s be our brother’s keepers
Let’s work for the good of all concerned
Let’s jettison laziness
And
Let’s join hands to build an expansive community
With a wave of unrelenting compassion
As we help build our neighbours dreams
We are greater together than we are apart
Let’s create the tomorrow we desire
As we embrace love for one another today
Knowing that we share life’s breath, together.

Good Morning World!

It’s a lovely Monday morning and I can see the birds flying, the trees gently swaying, the Sky looking down on us and the Sun is up too, shining beautifully.

For that I am GRATEFUL.

May you have a reason to smile today. And even laugh! Feel free to laugh ‘cos Nature bestowed it freely to us all.

And yesterday was Father’s Day. Yess! Our fathers deserved some accolades and I hope you lavished some niceties on the fathers in your life.

I believe that being a father is one of the toughest jobs in the world especially being a good father, and taking up responsibilities of catering for your family without being reminded of them.

You are all heroes in very special ways to your families whether they tell you this or not.

Dear fathers, I hope you enjoyed some thrilling moments with family. Did you receive any special gifts yesterday? Perhaps, you can share some of the wonderful surprises you experienced and those fondest weird things your kids told you. Hmmn!

As you are still basking in the joys of a successful weekend, here is something I’d like us to take away from this morning post.

“The greatest thing a father can do for his children is to respect the woman that gave birth to his children. It is because of her that you have the greatest treasures in your life. You may have moved on, but your children have not. If you can’t be her soulmate, then at least be thoughtful. Whom your children love should always be someone that you acknowledge with kindness. Your children notice everything and will follow your example.” – Shannon L. Alder

I call this *Word on marble.* Only the wise will understand the true meaning of the above quote.

Stay well. Stay safe. Stay healthy.

Be Careful With Your Words…!

Have you ever considered the words spoken to you at some point in your life? I mean those words that cut deep and pierce your heart. Those harsh words that ring a bell in your head when you remember them.

Words are powerful. Be it negative or positive words.

The words we utter and the words we speak are powerful and we should guide our tongues before making any utterances. Continue reading

Beauty Lies Within Everyone…!

We all need people around us at some point in our lives. No man is an island and no man can exist in isolation. We can’t travel this journey on earth without the help of other people. We need the support from family members or friends. Despite the negative impressions and betrayal from people, we still need to identify those people who are worthy to share our lives with us.

The most important thing is to ensure you mingle with the right people who understand your personality and add value to your life. And ditto.  Continue reading

Great Minds Think Alike…!

“Birds of a feather flock together” seems a cliché but it’s quite spot on too.

Successful people who aim for outstanding contributions to humanity never squander their time away. And they never wander aimlessly without clarity of purpose. Those people, who know where they are going, and those who are living intentionally, will not sit down and continue to waste precious time or hang out with those who have little or no ambition. They don’t mingle with those who are aimless. Nope. There is the need for them to find their kind to enable them to flourish better.  Continue reading
