As humans, there are times our thoughts travel far and wide. Our inner peace is besieged by life’s exigencies. No matter how hard we try to erase some memories, they keep coming back to us.
I’ve had moments when I’m in that solitary place and I keep wondering about life. Life happens and things get out of hand. Life happens and joy turns to sadness. In death, like most people will attest, we find grief at its ultimate depth. However, we remain soothed by our indelible memories and the abiding faith that our loved ones are resting in solace with the angels in heaven.
The enduring challenge, therefore, is for us humans to more consistently channel rivers of kindness, and extend our love, care and compassion to our families, friends, neighbourhoods, communities, and all humankind in the NOW when they can see, feel and appreciate the depth of these feelings as well as inhale the sweet fragrance of bouquets in this earthly domain. I was raised Catholic but converted to Pentecostal when I knew that my parents can no longer influence my decisions regarding the place of worship. I embraced this denomination mainly due to the stimulating, invigorating and melodious tunes by the Praise and Worship ministrations rather than the preaching on the pulpit.
