Back To My Comfort Zone!

Ouch! It feels so so good to be here again!

I am awfully sorry for my sudden disappearance from this platform. I’ve been absent here for a month now.

I’m so sorry that I didn’t hint you of my travel plans.

Oh yes, I’ve been away to my homeland and thought I could reach out to you all from there. However, life presents us with surprises and unexpected developments.

Sadly, I realized upon arrival in Nigeria that one major problem posed to the citizens was poor internet connectivity.  There is either low or no services at all and this disrupted my blogging routines and access to the world.

Did I enjoy the stark reality of this development? Not at all.

I felt cut off from the world.

I couldn’t function maximally and I was down for a few days as this reality dawned on me. However, I emerged from the gloom and bounced back to life so I could at least enjoy the reconnections with family and old friendships.

In spite of the few challenges, I had wonderful moments with my family especially with my mother who was so so delighted to see her daughter again after so many years.

I managed to pull through other frustrations because so many things have changed. There is a big difference in the whole environment. And I couldn’t fit in properly into the existing norms anymore.

Today, I feel so happy to be back to a clime where things work better.

I am back in Denmark.

I feel alive again as the cold air welcome me home. It’s all wintry here. The grey sky and the naked trees are familiar sights that I’ve come to appreciate over time.  And even the harsh winter cold is magical and soothing to my body after the discomforting heatwave back in Nigeria.

It feels so so good that I’m home again.

I am grateful and thankful to God for safe travels.

I miss you all. 🙂

My Travel Memoir!

The moment the reality struck me that today was the D-day, an uneasy wave of emotions bundled up inside of me churning my stomach to the point of nausea. It was a bittersweet feeling. This best described the condition I found myself as I packed the set of dresses inside the black box.

Everything was now ready and in a few hours, I would embark on the adventure to a new world. The preceding days have moved so swiftly and I didn’t realize it. Indeed, time runs so fast during such intense moments when we want it to slow down. Those moments when we still wish to savour the enormous love of the familial spirit that surrounds us. We don’t want to miss the fond affection of family and friends who have gathered to bid us goodbye. But today has happened so fast and there is a flight to catch. Continue reading

Human Frailty…!

We are often let down by the most trusted persons and loved by the most unexpected ones. Some make us cry for things that we haven’t done, while some other ignore all our faults just to see our smile. Some leave us when we need them the most, while some stick to us even when we ask them to leave. This world is a mixture of such peoples. We just need to know which hand to shake and which hand to hold!  – Unknown Continue reading

Good Morning World!

“Love” is a beautiful word, and we have to restore its meaning.

We have to make the effort to heal words by using them properly and carefully.

True love includes a sense of responsibility and accepting the other person as they are, with all their strengths and weaknesses.

If you only like the best things in a person, that is not love.

Accept their weaknesses and bring your patience, understanding, and energy to help them transform.

The Month of November!

The month of November ushers us into the inevitable change in weather when it’s going to get colder, darker, rainy and wet, and probably with flurries of snow. Then boom comes winter in its full glare! The month of November is significant and it holds different meanings for different people. For some, it is a birth month and for the Americans, it’s a month of Thanksgiving. In the Christian religious calendar, different commemorations and celebrations are held in November. It’s Halloween…!

And it’s another Halloween!

Oh yes. It’s another October. Another fall season, when Halloween is celebrated in most countries of the world as more and more people are beginning to adopt the tradition.

So, it’s that period of the year again when people wear masks and dress in costumes that appear scary and spooky. Or simply sexy and fanciful outfits just so they can make a statement, all in the spirit of Halloween. Continue reading
