There is a tendency to think you are ambitious when you are actually desperate for success; that’s because they are closely related and it’s sometimes difficult to tell which is which between both of them.
Desperation is the state of anxiety wherein you want to make it AT ALL COST. You are only interested in breaking limitations without considering who gets hurt.
Ambition on the other hand is the systematic and legitimate way of pursuing your dreams and goals.
An ambitious person thinks BIG, sees beyond, and looks at the big picture ahead. He does everything WITHIN HIS MEANS to bring it to reality.
A desperate person also sees the same big picture, thinks big but does everything WITHIN and OUTSIDE HIS MEANS to make it happen.
An ambitious person might change his job or decisions often but will not allow his name to be tarnished along the line. He is more concerned about the consequences of his actions coupled with his reputation over the years. A desperate fellow doesn’t care how anyone feels, as long as they are happy.
As stated earlier, both can lead to success. But what kind of success really?
Desperation leads you to a whole lot of vices while climbing the ladder of success. That’s the kind you see in a lot of politicians, in some workers in corporate firms with their sights on high positions, in some religious circles, among others. Desperation is essentially what will make a person do any and everything to become popular on social media, regardless of who’s hurt. This kind of success usually comes back to haunt sooner or later.
Having great ambition on the other hand is a pragmatic way of attaining success. It requires patience, tact, foresight, diligence and proactiveness. Match it with prayers and great interpersonal skills, and you will be fast tracked unto success without having any skeletons in your cupboard or ever having to sleep with one eye.
The question you should ask yourself this morning is; am I Ambitious or Desperate?
Find the answer, choose wisely.
Have a great week.

I have already succeeded so I am neither ambitious or desperate, just fortunate.

Great. I want to believe that once upon a time, you were ambitious, worked hard to achieve all you’ve become today. So yes, life smiles at the ambitious ones. Lol. I’m happy you feel fortunate about life. Not so many people can say that about their sojourn on earth. So yes, you are fortunate. Haha. Have a wonderful day, Sir. 🙂

My humour says both, but in reality neither, though both have played a part in my life.

Lol. I got the drift. Sometimes, we become desperate to get somethings and quite ambitious in the pursuit for success. Both, when done in a good standing, without having to cut corners seem plausible.
