Farewell to Donald Ray Williams.
And we miss a legend of country music. He bowed to death on September 8, 2017, in Mobile, Alabama due to emphysema at age 78.
You were among the pioneers of good country music.
Thank you for the inspiring songs. Thank you for the great music.
Listen to the Radio! My Best Friend. I Believe…. Were among the tracks I really enjoyed.

“Some tears will never dry, my love for you will never die”. (A great song you left for the world).
Rest in peace Don Williams.
Peace and Love!

Thank you for posting and sharing these news. What a calm man he is and I love his deep soft voice. Found a recording of a concert in Ireland which has been playing whilst I worked. Can recommend it.

I grew up listening to his songs. Thanks for posting this. I hadn’t heard about his passing.

You’re welcome. I know my father used to have a ‘heap’ of his ‘records’ together with oldies from Jim Reeves, Kenny Rogers et al. He made good music. Their kind of music is a rarity now. Glad you heard about his demise now. Thanks for reading. 🙂

My parents listened to the same group of country singers. Most people of my age group couldn’t understand why I liked them, too, but I found their songs beautiful. Don Williams was always my favourite. His song ‘I recall a gypsy woman’ was one of the first songs I ever learned the lyrics to!

Their kind of country music made waves a while back before this generation music flooded the air waves. Lol. They popularized country music. And till date, I still enjoy some fav tracks in their music. I will listen to the gypsy woman… not so sure I can remember the song. It’s good to recognise their legacy to humanity.
