As humans, we go through trials, difficult moments and daunting challenges. It varies from person to person, families to families’ etcetera. Challenges come in different packages. Some are light in weight while some can be very heavy burdens which can be quite depressing. During moments of trials, we most often isolate ourselves and believe that something is wrong with us. But no, it is a wrong perception.
No one is alone in this moment of pain, sadness or torture. We all have a share of this moment when it seems like all hope is gone. It could be an alone period when all energies are sapped and we feel deflated.
Today, if you are having such an encounter and going through a low moment or a dark period, I have a word for you. Perhaps, you are faced with – ill-health, betrayals, financial difficulties, frictions in your relationships or homes, hey, wake up and shake off that cloak of dejection and rejection.
It’s not the end of the world. And obviously not the end of YOU!
There is no point pretending like everything is OK when it isn’t. You don’t always have to pretend to be strong, and there’s no need to constantly prove that everything is going well. You shouldn’t be concerned with what other people are thinking either – cry if you need to – it’s healthy to shed your tears. The sooner you do, the sooner you will be able to smile again.
Remember, that every trying situation contains an opportunity for deeper self-reflection and learning. Every irritant, heartbreak, frustration, disappointment, fearful moment and sadness is a teacher. Remember also, nothing is as bad as it seems. Nothing. There is a benefit and a blessing hidden in the folds of every experience and every outcome. So don’t you dare give up on today because of the way things looked yesterday. Don’t even think about it. Every day is a new day to try again.
So I urge you to gather enough strength and pull yourself together. Think of ways and how to wade yourself out of that troubled waters. There must be a way out. Speak out to people, visit the doctor, counselors or whoever you feel might have answers to your problems. If you can’t handle it alone, reach out for help.
Today is Sunday and as a practicing Christian, I always go down on my knees in prayers. I tell you, it works for me. You may consider trying it this way too if you haven’t given it a thought yet.
There is no one like him
None can be like him
He watches over me
He supplies my need
He protects me
He shields me
He lives in me
He is the King of kings
He is my God
May the Good Lord be with you! Amen.
