There was a Youth Seminar in our church on Saturday and the question was posed to the audience – If you are given a few minutes to advise young teenagers across the world, what would you say to them?
At that time, I had only a few words in my mind to say to them. But reflecting on this question later on at home, I began to think deeply what I should rather be telling them. And I scribbled down some lines. And here’s an excerpt.
Dear Youth, You are the world’s hope for a better tomorrow in our society. The world yearns for more credible leaderships in the future which today are the youths. And you are the ones to rise to such responsibilities. The mantle of leadership will be thrust upon you in the future and you have to steer a good course. And you are the ones who will right the wrongs and the ills the world is enmeshed in today.
I know that most of you are gifted. You are strong, beautiful, Brilliant, intelligent and uniquely created to delight and amaze the world with your skills, attitude, and your experience. Ensure that you have a burning passion in your heart and perseverance in your actions so you can leave your mark on this world. This generation is looking forward to your creative genius! And you’ve got this within you. So find it.
I encourage you to be adventurous. Do not limit yourself by staying in your comfort zone or by being complacent. Don’t believe everything you are told, ensure you discover the world for yourself and by yourself. Launch out into the world, spread your tentacles and continuously reinvent yourself by striving to be a better version of you every day. And as you do this, do not compete with anybody, but yourself.
It is pertinent that you do not fall a victim of the world standard, especially as defined by Social Media. Rather be YOU. Love yourself and know that it’s very ok to be YOU because, at the end of the day, you are accountable for YOU and for all of the choices you make in life.
Never let anyone make you feel less or that you are not good enough, not beautiful enough and not smart enough. Never let people make you doubt your self-worth. It is okay to be different. Oh yes, it is very okay to be YOU.
Always remember this: You matter. You are important. You are Enough.
Lastly, I would like you to understand who you are and know your passion. Have a goal for life. Define this goal. Find your purpose. Stand firm on your ground when you discover who you are. You need to be firm because some people out there will try to define who you are. And they will define you wrongly if you don’t know who you truly are.
Build your wall because there will come challenges in the days ahead. There will be tough times ahead so brace up for these unpleasant moments. Only the Survivors wins the race and takes the crown. Therefore, don’t you ever falter or give up during stormy times.
No. Never ever give up.
Don’t give up on your goals. On your dreams, On your future.
I say this because I know that winners don’t quit and quitters don’t win. And I know that you can do all things through Christ who strengthens you.
Yes, YOU can.
PS: Do you have anything to tell the youths? Kindly share with us on the comment session. Thank you.
Peace and Love!
