Let’s Quit Worrying…

Have you ever wondered why you have a mind? Perhaps you’ve never reflected on that or pondered on the reason why.  So today, let’s look at the mind and the reason behind its creation.

Your mind was given to you as the ultimate tool for creation and innovation. Why waste all that power on worry?

Often times we are burdened by worry. We worry about everything and anything. We waste unnecessary time and energy worrying so much that it begins to take a toll on our health. The mental bandwidth that worrying consumes is staggering. It leaves us exhausted and unproductive and makes us worry even much more. I tell you, it’s always a no win situation. But it ought not to be so if we really knew better.

  • We think about what he or she said or did to us.
  • We sit for ages worrying about the lost opportunities and the chances we’ve missed in life.
  • We exert energy focusing too much and feeding our past mistakes and wrong deeds.
  • What about the failed relationship we keep thinking about? What about that?

But in all of these instances, in all of these worries, we achieve nothing substantial from them. The outcome is stress and depression. We entangle ourselves with negative thoughts and this saddens us. In effect, we lose touch with the present. Even with our minds.

We need to realise that worrying too much is not healthy. It eats up our emotional space and consumes our strength immensely.

There is need to worry. But not to engage in it for too long. Therefore, anytime we are tempted to worry, remember to redirect that energy towards other things. That is why we have a mind. To be able to think out solutions and practicalize them.

How about exerting that energy and time towards getting creative? For instance, how about channelling that energy into writing our thoughts down? Writing out solutions for our worries until we’ve poured out our whole heart.  This is a way to offload the excess burden until we’ve emptied them completely and free ourselves of the emotional trauma.

At the end of this exercise, watch the positive energy that will fill you up. The new attitude you will adopt which invariably affects your general well-being.

From the above, let’s quit worrying. For as long as we live, there will be other opportunities that will come our way. In fact, multiple opportunities will be opened to us again. And we’d possibly recover and reclaim those lost chances.

  1. “If you ask what is the single most important key to longevity, I would have to say it is avoiding worry, stress and tension. And if you didn’t ask me, I’d still have to say it.”

  2. You have said it so beautifully and so truthful are the words that one must not Worry at all but Worries and Tensions who does not have. Mind has to be occupied in creative ways and keep it busy in positive thinking too. Thanks for the share.

  3. Stella, this is a magnificent post! Thank you for your contribution to Forgiving Fridays. 🙂 🙂 🙂

Using the mind in SUPPORT of our well-being is such an excellent suggestion. I love writing down the solutions, I’m going to try that. One of the things I use is a positive mantra during meditation to tune in to the energy of peace and love. It has been the biggest contributor to my health and well-being.

I will – with great honor and joy 🙂 – share this post for Forgiving Fridays this week. Yay!
Love and blessings to you Stella, Debbie
