The Daily Prompt – Meddle!

She claims that her mother in law is always meddling in her marriage. This has led to several crises in her home.

A chaotic cold war is now upon the two women who never fail to show how much they dislike each other’s presence.

Well, I just wonder why people like to meddle in other people’s life affairs.

And I’d like to ask you this question today. Does your mother in law meddle in your marriage?

  1. My mother in law (may she rest in peace) was always interjecting her thoughts and opinions, to say the least. She lived with us for a while, even though our house was the smallest, because my husband treated her better than any of his brothers. She cooked and cleaned, and although at the time it seemed like she was taking over my house, she was really saying thank you.
She survived the death of her oldest son and her 50 year old husband with strength and courage. Which is probably where i learned how to when my husband, her second oldest son, died at 37. She was a pain in the butt a lot of the time, but i miss her dearly.

    • Oh no! First I’d say sorry for your loss. Death is so unkind – 37? Quite sad! Well, sometimes we don’t know what we’ve got until it’s gone and I can imagine your experiences. Anyway, glad you learnt something from your mother in law. We go through certain expererices and phases just so we’d learn a good lesson. On a general note, I found out that living with other people comes with its challenges. It comes with a price whether friends, relatives, siblings, mother in laws etc. We are bound to clash one way or the other and fall out due to differing ideologies, attitudes, opinions and backgrounds… All these cause frictions because there is a limit we’d compromise… Thank you so much for sharing your story. I really appreciate your comment. Hugs to you. 🙂

      • It is true that living with anyone can be challenging. I have always loved writing, but have gotten away from it for a while. It can be very cathartic. Thank you for your kind words. Have a great day!
