Broken But Not Shattered…

I am standing tall

As I emerge from yesterday’s failed promises

No, they couldn’t shatter me to pieces

Broken but not shattered

I pick up these broken fragments of me

As they make a whole bunch of memories

I am standing tall

Strong and not weak

Wearing my armour of confidence

Taking my profound strides

Watch me take these strides

As I unleash the wolf inside of me

And the flames burning inside

I am standing tall

Strong and not weak

As I emerge from yesterday’s failed promises

To do what wolves and fire do best

To spring you a surprise

So you’d wake up

Your warped mind about me

  1. Beware, the shattered wolf is loose,
Its hunger, strong, brooks no excuse,
But sinks its fangs into life once more,
It holds on tight, like hangman’s noose.

For life must lift its head once more,
Broken and shattered upon the shore,
Alive again, takes flight like a goose,
The sky’s the limit, and not the floor.
