“If you don’t read the newspaper, you’re uninformed. If you read the newspaper, you’re mis-informed.” ― Mark Twain
Years ago, I had an affectionate feel for the Newspaper
The Vendor was a regular face every morning
Dad was addicted to The Observer
It was like prayer to him as he wakes up
I was trapped by The Guardian
The hilarious world of cartoons captivated me
Who cared about the world news?
Those were meant to be read by the menfolk
Not for a girl whose eyes lit up with love stories
According to Romeo and Juliet
Poems, fairy tales of blissful endings
Today the Newspapers
Has been usurped by the internet
Seen only in libraries and public places
Read by the old folks
What a cruel blow
To the journalist and his column
This post is in response to the Daily Prompt – Newspaper.
