Write Anything Wednesday!

On today’s Write Anything Wednesday, I have collated some tips about writing from famous writers. I hope you find them useful writing tips. The good thing about this challenge is that you can write any rant, any muse, any ramblings on your mind and it’s fine. Lol.

“The best time to plan a book is while you’re doing the dishes.”  – Agatha Christie

“Don’t just plan to write – write. It is only by writing, not dreaming about it, that we develop our own style.”  – P. D. James

“One thing that helps is to give myself permission to write badly. I tell myself that I’m going to do my five or ten pages no matter what, and that I can always tear them up the following morning if I want. I’ll have lost nothing — writing and tearing up five pages would leave me no further behind than if I took the day off.”  – Lawrence Block

“If you rewrite a paragraph fifty times and forty-nine of them are terrible, that’s fine; you only need to get it right once.”   – Tana French

“Gather knowledge about the craft of writing. Immerse yourself in the art of it. Then write. Write yourself silly. Write yourself mad. Write yourself blind. Trust the excitement that builds within you when the idea is good and the writing is superb. You can do it, but that’s the hell of it as well as the exultation of it. You have to do it.”  – Elizabeth George

This Blog post is an entry for the Write Anything WednesdayDaily Post Community Event, organized by Writerishramblings.

  1. OK I’m going to write a post in my religion blog about being different or peculiar. Like you said in that quote: there is more than one way to make tomato stew.
